Walt greatly admired the story, but it was Mr. Diane's daughter who persuaded him to make the film. She loved the story and thought it was worth making Walt's film. Feed the Birds is one of Walt Disney's all-time favorite songs. According to Richard Sherman, Walt often called him on Fridays to ask him to play the piece.
